Vodafone’s ‘One Strategy’ CR 2008 report launched

30th June 2008

Can business strategy really be aligned with corporate responsibility strategy? This critical question is the theme of Vodafone’s 2008 CR Review. In three key areas Vodafone believes that its CR and business objectives are mutually beneficial:

Connecting the poor in emerging economies - In India a low cost business model means Vodafone is connecting 1.5 million new customers every month, not just in cities but also in remote rural areas.

Making mobile internet safe - Mobile internet is a major business growth area. To capture this market customers need to be confident that Vodafone’s privacy protection and content control measures give them the highest level of protection possible.

Cutting Vodafone’s carbon footprint - Vodafone’s business is growing but its climate impact must not. The company’s target to cut absolute CO2 emissions by 50% by 2020 stimulates energy saving technology that will reduce it’s energy costs for years to come.

The ‘One Strategy’ CR Review discusses these key issues and the comprehensive online report outlines progress on all material CR issues.
