“Global demand for energy is set to rise exponentially in line with population growth and an increasing middle class population. Against this background and amid increasing concerns over energy security, countries are basing their future plans on a range of energy sources including coal, oil, gas, nuclear and renewable. However, a significant element in all future calculations are large planned improvements in energy efficiency and therefore ISO 50001 is set to make a major contribution in helping to bring this about.”
