The latest draft of the AA1000 Assurance Standard (2008) is now online for public consultation

1st August 2008

Click here to watch Alan Knight, Head of Standards open the third and final phase and listen to his views on the progress made so far.

This final period of consultation runs until September 12th after which the Technical Committee will again review all comments and finalise the Standard for the global launch on October 24th. The Technical Committee have taken on board all submitted comments and made all changes based on these. A pdf of the AA1000 Assurance Standard standard is available on the wiki website and this is updated as edits are made.

Some of the key changes made include:

The creation of three documents: AA1000 AccountAbility Principles, AA1000AS (2008) and Guidance on the use of the AA1000AS (2008)

A reduction to two types of scope: Type 1 – evaluating adherence to the AA1000 AcountAbility Principles and Type 2 – evaluating adherence to the AA1000 AccountAbility Principles PLUS an evaluation of specified performance information

Significant development of the Guidance document, with further guidance for assurance providers and a complete overhaul of the guidance for reporting organisations.
We look forward to your continued input.
