Food safety is, I think, still top priority in the food supply chain and I think for the coming years it will remain top priority in the food supply chain. But what you see more and more is that sustainability issues like food security, like child labour, like environmental issues, they become more and more important.

The National Sustainable Food Summit is in Sydney on 4 April. Cor Groenveld – LRQA Global Product Manager Food Services – will be speaking on how management systems and audits support a sustainable food supply chain. In the run up to the event, Cor shared his insight on many of the key issues affecting this key area of the food sector

I believe that employees must not only be made aware of the big picture, but must also understand the vision and objectives of the organization and their responsibility vis-à-vis food safety. My experience has also shown that a well-thought-out management system to help achieve this objective is crucial.
