Ethical Supply Chain Video Podcast Series

Next week will see the first episode of the www.businessassurance.com Ethical Supply Chain Video podcast series. Interviews with supply chain experts from Hewlett Packard in Germany, Marshalls in the UK, The Global Social Compliance Programme and the Carbon Disclosure Project will be featured in a four part series.

The first episode will be launched next Monday, October 27th, with each of the interviews conducted at the recent Ethical Supply Chain Summit, held in Berlin.

UK Prime Minister: Food crisis is the new credit crunch

CNN reported today that Gordon Brown, the UK Prime Minister, has stated that the crisis resulting from rising food prices is as strong a threat to world prosperity as the credit crunch crisis.

“Tackling hunger is a moral challenge to each of us and it is also a threat to the political and economic stability of nations,” he stated.

Co-op Gets Serious: No caged hens, only Fairtrade hot drinks, reduce pesticides + packaging

The Co-operative Group, have announced transparent, detailed plans on addressing stakeholder concerns. They will ban the sale of eggs from caged hens, convert its entire own-brand hot beverage range to Fairtrade, reduce the weight of its wine packaging and add a further 66 pesticides to its prohibited list.
