Key Supply Chain Security Conference covers present logistic security problems from many different perspectives.

17th July 20091 Comment

On 4th of June, SASMA and TAPA EMEA association (TAPA EMEA), organised the Supply Chain Security conference, which took place in Krakow, Poland. The event was a first for Poland with TAPA EMEA dedicating its regional conference to logistic security problems in East-Central Europe.

A number of key organisations attended the event with a few being TAPA EMEA which is a company which creates international logistic security standards (TSR / FSR) that many companies would like to achieve and Lloyds Regsiter Quality Assurance (LRQA), who specialise in auditing and implementing TAPA TSR / FSR standards certifications.

Speeches also came from representatives of companies who offer logistic security systems like GE Veriwise or manufacturing companies like Dell, who achieved high level logistic security standards to ship their goods safely all over the world. A representative from the Police also delivered a talk about transport crimes committed in our region. Standards FSR and TSR were discussed by Mark Schwarz from TAPA EMEA and Leszek Sitkowski from LRQA (shown below).

The interactive and interesting event encouraged the audience to ask key questions and discuss key issues surrounding supply chain security. The event succeeded in showing how important it is to follow appropriate supply chain security standards and how it can minimize the risk of potential losses.
