Authorised Economic Operators (AEO) Guide

12th November 2007

The Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) certificate is an internationally recognised quality mark which tells people that your role in the international supply chain is secure, and that your customs controls and procedures are efficient and compliant.

This guide explains the benefits that an AEO Certificate can bring you, who can apply for one, criteria you have to meet to be eligible, and how to apply. Although HMRC will be ready to receive applications from 1 July 2007, certificates will not be issued until March 2008 at the earliest.
