The Consumer Goods Forum (front CIES), will meet for the third time this year at GFSI Japan.
The Consumer Goods Forum is a global consumer goods distribution industry groupd of organisations who have been active in the food business industry for over 50 years. The private sector amounts to approximately 650 companies from 70 countries and has established a network of CEO’s and senior managers. In addition to manufacturers and retailers, service providers are also members of the CGF.

GFSI tackle global
The Global Food Safety Initiative has been collaborating with key food safety stakeholders over the past 10 years to promote the convergence of food safety management schemes through a benchmarking process, thereby improving cost efficiency throughout the food supply chain via the common acceptance of GFSI recognised standards by global retailers.

GFSI would like to strengthen its links with local retailers, manufacturers and service providers to identify the needs of the Japanese marketplace. This event will promote discussion on key food safety issues to identify future work items to add to the GFSI agenda. There is opportunity and indeed the need for involvement of Japanese companies in ongoing and new GFSI projects, such as the Global Markets programme.
