Climate pioneer backs tax on carbon, nuclear power

The scientist who first convinced the world that climate change was a problem has backed a Greens’ proposal for a carbon tax as the only solution being offered in Canberra.
James Hansen, the director of NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies and the man dubbed the ”godfather of climate science”, said the emissions-trading model backed by the government was ”a non-solution”, while the opposition did not accept man-made climate change.
