Changes in supply chain collaboration, management and security

9th October 2007

Changes in supply chain collaboration, management and security The @ Supply Chain Management blog points to a new supply chain report, which presents the results of comprehensive longitudinal research into supply chain management and supply chain security.

With data from 2001 and 2007, CAPS Research was able to gain insight into the changes which have occurred over the last six years.

The European Leaders in Procurement blog has this to say:

According to their research, managers are spending more time than ever before evaluating supply chain-enabled business models. Despite this Fawcett and Magnan claim that only a handful of companies have developed fully integrated collaborative capability, whilst for the majority supply chain collaboration remains “ad hoc” and “fragmented”.

And the report’s authors warn that those companies who are failing to develop their supply chain strategy are in danger of being left behind by the competition.

An executive summary (PDF) is available from the CAPS Research website.
