Californian Emissions Trading Rules set for 2012 Start

Last week the California Air Resources Board, published their timelines for finalising the rules for emissions trading within California for a January 1st 2012 start date. The programme of work which can be accessed here http://www.arb.ca.gov/cc/capandtrade/capandtrade/programactivities.pdf details a variety of workshops throughout 2011 addressing offsets, compliance, allocation as well as linkages to other schemes in the US.
In addition to the workshops, a report is required to submitted to the Board in July outlining the status of the regulation and implementation, auctioning and offsets, market oversight and readiness and the critical path for the 2012 go date.
