Business Continuity Survey

29th December 2008 by Alex Briggs

The Disaster Resource Guide’s 2nd Annual Business Continuity Survey takes a look at the way businesses approached their Business Continuity plans in 2008 compared to 2007. Also included in the survey is an insightful look at trends into 2009.

Interesting that 71% of companies chose to develop their own BC plans, without any third party assistance. Also quite alarming is that 20% of businesses do not have “communicating with clients” as part of their business continuity plan. In other words, they do not feel it is important to involve their most valuable stakeholders in the communications process when a major incident takes place that directly effects their business.
Last, but not least, is that 51% of companies surveyed do not have a business continuity plan in place.
