Business Continuity Planning and Pandemic Influenza in Europe

According to recent research conducted by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine on Business Continuity Planning and Pandemic Influenza in Europe“, it was identified that by far, most strategic and operational efforts have been directed towards building resilience in public health systems, and have overlooked the challenge of ensuring business continuity in independent organisations, institutions and businesses operating outside the health sector.

They have surveyed  27 European Union (EU) member states, plus Turkey, Norway and Switzerland and Independent advisory organisations were included in their research survey. The scope  focused on areas’ of preparedness associated with Business Continuity Panning (BCP) and identified nine areas of preparedness and 65 themes across both sectors.
