Being Green in the US and the UK
4th September 2007 by Alex Briggs
The US government and media have made 2007 the “year of the environment”. To the general US public, it may seem that the US is leading the way on this one. For the majority of Europeans, particularly Brits, the viewpoint is much different. While they clearly welcome the US interest in “green issues” and the environment, they see the shift in the US as far overdue, some even saying, “too little, too late”.
Joel Makower, who the Associated Press called “The guru of green business practices,” wrote an insightful blog post on his experience of touching down in London at the beginning of this summer. His credibility as one of the leading US thinkers on green issues makes this article even more relevant.
