In her first speech as Prime Minister, Gillard promised to take up Rudd’s “tough on climate change” position to “re-prosecute the case for a carbon price at home and abroad.” She disappointed some followers last week, however, when she revealed her intention to re-examine the CPRS no earlier than 2012 – a goalpost already set by Rudd.
