ED PINERO INTERVIEW ISO 50001Edwin Pinero is the independent chair of ISO 50001, the new global energy management system (EnMS) standard. He was the Chief Sustainability Officer reporting directly to George W. Bush from 2003-2008. In this interview, LRQA Business Assurance talked to Edwin two days before the global launch of ISO 50001. The discussion included the importance of ISO 50001 to both countries and organizations, large and small, the direct and indirect benefits to organisations in implementing an ISO 50001 EnMS and, finally the benefits of independent, third-party ISO 50001 certification.
